INTRODUCTION
In the middle of nineteenth Century, Shakespeare's works were translated into the world, and China was also in contact with the writer. Shakespeare first entered China due to the fact that Chinese people open the door and want to understand the world. The intellectuals who advocate reform view Shakespeare as medium which can change the rigid tradition, and hope that it can become a weapon to criticize the community. In the subsequent hundred years of history, Shakespeare has always been able to adapt to China's modern culture in a timely manner, and it can be said that Shakespeare influenced China and China also reshape the Shakespeare.
Shakespeare in China is a review book and written by Dr. Yanna Sun. In this book, the writer talks about Shakespeare and his works. My task is to translate Chapter One of this book into correct Chinese. In this chapter, the writer introduces the early history of Shakespeare in China including early translations, early productions and comments. Through Shakespeare in China we can see that Chinese Shakespeare, China politics, Chinese tradition and Chinese society are closely linked together. The purpose and significance of the translation of this book is to reveal the complex relationship which is mentioned above.
