INTRODUCTION

The book, Turn Setbacks into Greenbacks is written by Willie Jolley who is a celebrated American writer. In his book, the writer talks about the new secrets for success，and the author states that a lot of people are dissatisfied with their own economic situation, but only a few people can face the economic setback positively. So the author put forward seven secrets of getting rich. In the book, the author introduces seven secrets from the aspects of thinking, behavior, psychology and so on. In this process, two chapters were chosen to be translated, chapter five and chapter six.

The two chapters offer two secrets for going up in down times. And they show the author’s the purpose of writing. In the book, the author tells that readers should be proactive in life in his special language style, and that readers must be optimistic to deal with difficulties. Beside he also advises readers should be creative. The author uses a narrative approach to introduce his point of view. And he illustrates his viewpoint with a large number of examples and stories. In a word, all these examples and stories express the importance of two secrets for getting rich in details. 

In my paper, there are three parts. In the first part, it introduces the main information of the whole book, including content of the book, background information and the author. The second part is mainly about the process of the translation. It obtains the introduction of translation skills and methods I used in translation. The third part shows the problem in the translation and solution.

《化挫折为美金》一书是威力•乔利所写的一本书，他是美国有名的作家。作者在书中阐述了有很多人对自身的经济状况感到不满，更是只有少数的人可以积极的面对经济上的挫折。于是作者就提出了七个致富的秘诀。在书中从人们的思想、行为、心理对这七个秘诀进行介绍。本次翻译实践节选书中的第五、六章节进行翻译。

所选其中的两个章节提供了两个在处于低迷时上升的秘诀，全面地向读者们展示了作者威力•乔利的写作目的。作者用独特的语言风格告诉读者积极主动地面对生活，用乐观的思想处理困难，再者要具备创新意识。作者全篇使用了叙述的手法来介绍他的观点，并加以大量的例子和故事进行举证，详尽再现了两种致富秘诀的重要作用。

本论文有三个部分。第一部分介绍了这本书的一些信息，包括书的内容、背景资料和作者。第二部分主要论述翻译的过程。介绍了翻译过程中的翻译技巧和翻译方法。第三部分阐述了翻译中存在的问题及解决方法。
