《语言与力量》一书从引进、开发、到探索推广，一步步从浅到深的对语言与幽默、政治、法律、性别、种族、广告、口语等一系列主题做出了全面的介绍与分析，同时涵盖了许多研究分析的方法及理论概念。本次翻译实践节选书中的B6、C6、D6章节进行翻译。
翻译实践所选的三个章节，向读者展示了幽默语和反语之间的联系、幽默的语言力量、以及幽默在种族主义中所表现出的极端政治仇恨。这些章节采用了分析论述的手法，辅以恰当的例子举证，严谨地描述了幽默在语言中所产生的影响。
第一部分是对幽默与反语的研究，作者为反语给出了两种定义。一是核心定义，二是分层定义。作者围绕这两种定义继而引申出性别和种族主义幽默。
第二部分作者主要围绕语言的力量讲述一种恰当性幽默的影响。
第三部分作者通过三K党中的种族主义笑话展现了极端种族主义对黑人的政治仇恨。
在翻译初始，我大致浏览了翻译的原文后发现，里面有许多我未曾遇到过的术语，单词和长句，这些都会增大我翻译中的难度。所以，我首先通过百度、谷歌和有道来了解这些术语及生词。面对长句时，我发现当我把它们翻译成中文时并不通顺，因此，我向我的指导老师，吴老师寻求帮助，让我能更好的完成翻译实践。
INTRODUCTION
The first part is the study on humor and irony. The author has given irony two definitions. One is a core definition, the other one is a sub-definition. And then, the author comes out to the sexist and racist humor with two definitions.
In the second part, the author mainly focuses on the power of language to describe the effect on an appropriate humor.
In the third part, the author shows the extreme racist political hatred against Black through KKK’s racist jokes.
At the beginning of translation, I glanced over my original text and I found that there were so many terms, words and long sentences which I have never met that I couldn’t translate easily. So, I firstly knew the meaning of these terms and new words with “Baidu”, “Google” and “Youdao”. Faced with the long sentences, I found that when I translated them into Chinese, they didn’t read smoothly. So, I asked my supervisor, Dr. Wu for help to finish this translation practice.
