中文摘要: 随着全球化的发展,世界各国文化的交流越来越频繁。电影因其传播速度较快而被越来越多的人接受。电影内容能否准确传递很大程度上取决于字幕,而字幕翻译的好坏又直接决定了电影所表达的意思是否能准确地传递给异域观众。如今市面上电影字幕的翻译较为随意,缺乏统一的翻译方法。尤金-奈达创立的功能对等理论注重意义功能的对等而不强调形式的统一,这与电影字幕翻译目的不谋而合。因此,本论文将利用功能对等理论,联系字幕翻译独有的特点,接着以电影《教父》为例,尝试翻译电影字幕。研究发现,尽管字幕翻译有着种种苛刻的要求,但是功能对等理论能够较好地应用到电影字幕翻译中,为电影字幕的翻译提供理论依据,但是它对于一些文化中词汇空白问题并没有涉及,希冀能为未来电影字幕翻译理论体系的形成带来一些启示。
