本次翻译实践选取《中国日记》一书中的第七、八章，无人翻译过并且难度适中。对于翻译材料里的一些特定时期的事件和人物，通过查阅工具书、资料和请教他人等方式，补充历史方面的专业知识，较为透彻地读懂原文。翻译的语言和形式要忠实于原著，保留传记文体的真实性和文学性。传记类文章的翻译必须保留历史或显示文中存在的人物和事件，还原历史的真实性。同时又要使用一定的艺术手法加以表现，兼具一定的文学性。原文中有较多书信，需要结合前后语境，连贯地向读者传达作者的中心思想，以恰当的形式和风格翻译出来。

本论文主要分为两大块：1、翻译部分；2、论文部分。

    1、翻译部分：本次翻译实践选取《中国日记》一书中的第七、八章。第七章主要讲述了主人翁玛丽（文月华）一家在上海困苦的生活。南京大屠杀事件使得全国人心惶惶，大量难民涌入上海。致使上海租借治安混乱，物价飞涨，生活成本不断增加。而玛丽的再次怀孕无疑加重了这一家的生活负担。第八章主要讲述了玛丽与在重庆的丈夫分开了八个月，玛丽一人艰难产子。虽然期间两人有产生些小矛盾，但是长时间的分离加重了两人间的思念，让他们在分离之后感情更加亲密。

    2、论文部分：翻译心得主要以英文句式结构为基本点开展。结合翻译过程中遇到的定语、状语、插入语等现象撰写论文，讲述根据中英句式习惯不同，如何选取适当的句式传达原文的句子结构及思路。根据翻译实践过程中遇到的翻译问题及解决办法讲述自己的心得体会。

INTRODUCTION

This paper is mainly divided into two parts: the translation and the essay. 

Part one is the translation of chapter seven and eight of China's Diary. Chapter seven is mainly about the poor life of the protagonist, Mary Austin Endicott, Marry in Chinese, in Shanghai. The Nanjing Massacre made panic spread across the country, causing a large number of refugees to pour into Shanghai. As a result, the Shanghai Foreign Settlement was in chaos, where the cost of living rose dramatically, causing a heavier burden on Wen and her family. However, Wen’s pregnancy surely made the burden even more severe. Chapter eight mainly tells the story of Marry’ s separation from her husband in Chongqing for eight months, during which time Wen gave birth to another child. Although there were frictions between the couple, the long time separation made them more intimate.

Part two is about the translation method used in the process, mainly based on the adjustment of word order in English sentence structure. Taking the examples of attribute, adverbial, parenthesis and so on in the form of phrases and sentences, according to the different habits of sentence structure in English and Chinese, it is of much importance to select the appropriate sentence structure in translation to convey the original contextual meaning and the train of thoughts. The problems encountered in the process of translation practice are analyzed and solutions to solve them are suggested in this essay.
