This novel tells the story of the impact on the life of ordinary people after World War One, “it’s very tough at that time, the peaceful and quiet life has gone forever”. The theme of the book is “survive, die and rebuild”, which makes people think deeply. This book mainly reveals the influence of World War One on the lives and experiences of ordinary people. With the outbreak of the war, the influence is gradually going into people’s life in each aspect. The war does great harm to ordinary people, especially to ordinary people’s daily life and physical and mental health.
Chapter 5, Chapter 6 and Chapter 7 in A poor wise man are the translation materials of the translator.
