Abstract
Gender difference is a common phenomenon in the languages. Gender differences in language are a kind of language phenomenon deeply influenced by society, culture and customs. Language and gender influences each other. Since the development of western women's liberation movement in the 1960 s, the study of gender differences and language is a very important subject of study. Some famous linguists began to study the connections between gender and languagefrom the perspective of gender. They have discussed the gender differences in pronunciation, intonation, vocabulary and discourse style, and analyzed some of the reasons for these differences and its development and changes from the perspective of social linguistics researches.
Based on the previous studies, this paper attempts to explore the differences in the use of English vocabulary, intonation and pronunciation. In the final part, this paper aims to explore the causes of these differences from historical, cultural and social, physical and psychological factors. In this way, this paper aims to make a little contribution for the further study in this field.
