Abstract

With the development of technology and times, featured with popularization and development of information networks, cyber age brings great impact to the literal translation in Chinese-English translation. Literal translation is one of the major basic methods commonly used in Chinese-English translation; with the popularity of the network, the efficiency of cultural information dissemination, it is more and more convenient for people to query information and data, which brings great advantage to the use of literal translation in Chinese-English translation. Therefore, this thesis mainly probes into the advantages of using literal translation brought by cyber age and point out some possible trends of development on literal approach in Chinese-English translation in the Cyber Age. This thesis is beneficial to provide people a new angle of using literal translation in the new century.
