Abstract:Founded in August of 2008 and based in San Francisco, California, Airbnb is a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world—online or from a mobile phone or tablet PC, Airbnb and its community are part of the growing Sharing Economy, a business model pushed by network technologies and social tools that is redefining the ways of exchanging goods and services in the market. Airbnb’s excellent business model can be a good example for enterprises that in Sharing Economy. Based on the analysis of Airbnb business model, this paper points out the excellent features of Airbnb products and services, also analyzes the problems while Airbnb came to the Chinese market and its solutions and strategies. Finally, this paper gives some enlightenments and suggestions for relevant enterprises.
