Abstract
A Song of Ice and Fire is the famous contemporary fantasy literature series written by George R. R. Martin. It has been well received since its publication and translated into over 30 languages. One of the reasons why it is such a big hit is the author's outstanding narrative techniques. Therefore, the research on the narrative techniques in A Song of Ice and Fire will help us better understand the reason why it has become such a monument of fantasy literature and better analyze this splendid epic. This article puts the emphasis on the third limited person POV narrative technique and the narrative technique of multiple main story lines. These techniques have made the story complex and fascinating, therefore, adding dramatization and immersion to it.
