Abstract: Since the first English original edition of the series of Harry Potter was published by Bloomsbury in June, 1997, a magnificent magical world has appeared in people's eyes. J.K. Rowling takes us to the world which is unknown and fantasy, but not completely breaking away from the real life. At the same time, she also creates amounts of fresh characters. The protagonist, Harry, is a civilian hero, and his potions professor, Snape, in the author’s ambiguity at the beginning, is the villain. With the development of the plot, however, it seems that the figure doesn't like what he is obviously. This article aims to analyze Professor Snape from the perspectives of Byronic Hero and explain Professor Snape from Byronic hero's characteristics, formative factors and compared with traditional hero,in order to let people have a different understanding of this character and Harry Potter.
