Abstract:As the city public signs are commonly used in our daily life, they offer a kind of warning, direction, notification and other closely related literal or graphical information.
Through some exploration and research, the author finds that, with China cities’ fast internationalizing, the city public signs, as the first window to look into the city, its significance have become more and more important. To get better culture communication with other countries, the author thinks something must be done on analyzing so-called “city’s name card”---public sign and its translation. To research in a correct way and find the correct solution, with these supports our government can upgrade the translation quality and improve China’s international images.

摘要:城市公共标识广泛应用于我们生活各项方面。为公众提供警示，导向，提醒以及其他与文字或图片有关信息的作用。
笔者通过对这一问题的搜索和研究发现，随着我国城市国际化进程加快，公共标识作为城市的第一扇视窗，其作用日趋重要。为了更好的促进中外文明的融汇交流，笔者认为应当从有“城市名片”之称的城市公共标识语语言特点着手分析。用实用翻译理论找到正确解决问题的途径，为政府提高翻译质量水平，提升中国国际化形象提供支持。

This chapter will draw the dissertation to a natural ending by reviewing the important findings in the research and evaluating the limitations of it.
In this dissertation, the author initiates a investigation of the city public signs translation. So far, the dissertation has show two important factors to the readers..
One is, our country become more and more modernized, the city public sign translation has drawn attention from academy and government’s notice, the correctness and formality are also arisen.
The other is there still some mistakes and errors frequently occurred so the translators should pay more attention and broaden their knowledge in order to avoid these error. A correct and formal translated city public sign will be a perfect “name card”, leaving foreigners a good impression of the city and the nation.
