Abstract: With the rapid development of science and technology, a prevailing phenomenon that sending and receiving short messages has made up one of the essential part in modern people’s life. People use short messages to transmit information as well as to deliver feelings and sense of humor. Therefore humorous short messages have already led people to a new way that they are able to entertain themselves and others. This paper aims to study the pragmatic functions of humorous short messages on the basis of analyzing the characteristics and figures of speech of humorous short messages.

摘要：随着时代的发展，科技不断进步，收发短信这一现象已经成为现代人生活中不可或缺的组成部分。人们用短信来承载信息，同时也通过短信来传递情感和幽默，幽默短信已经成为人们娱乐自己和他人的新途径。本论文旨在通过对幽默短信的语言特征和修辞手法分析的前提下，进一步阐述幽默短信在实际语用环境下的功能。
