Abstract: As a medium of cultural exchanges, films have been agreeably accepted by modern people. Accordingly, film translation is playing an indispensable role in the intercultural communication. It is beyond doubt that English film lines have such overall characters in language feature as popularity, simplicity, vitality, and personalization. A good translated film is sure to transfer these features into the target language. This paper attempts to analyze film translation in the frame of relevance theory based on the film Dead Poets Society.

摘要：现代社会，人们已逐渐接受电影作为现代文化交流的载体之一。因此，影视翻译在这种形式的跨文化交际中正发挥着不可替代的作用。通常而言，英语电影台词在语言方面具有以下特征：通俗、简洁、生动以及语言个性化。一部好的译制片必须把这些特点移植到目标语中。本文以英文经典影片《死亡诗社》为蓝本，从关联理论的角度研究影视翻译。
