Abstract： This paper gives a brief introduction to Arthur Miller and his Death of a Salesman which is one of the greatest tragedies in the American drama history. Different from the classical tragedy, it is about the story of an ordinary salesman, Willy Loman, who is deceived by the distorted American Dream and gradually ends up with a tragic death. The paper attempts to investigate the factors that lead to the salesman’s tragedy and death.

摘要：《推销员之死》是美国历史上最伟大的悲剧之一，但与传统悲剧不同的，这是一个关于普通推销员的故事。本篇论文对《推销员之死》及其作者阿瑟·米勒进行了简要的介绍，并试图分析导致威利·洛曼毁灭的原因，指出了他正是在扭曲的美国梦等因素的影响下，最终走向死亡的悲剧。
