Abstract: This paper is a study of the humorous language translation of the American sitcom The Big Bang Theory in the light of Skopos Theory. Skopos Thoery, discovered in the late 1970s, holds that translation is a purposeful intercultural action. With its three rules, Skopos Theory provides a unique criterion for the assessment of translation adequacy.
This paper suggests that in order to achieve the expected function of the target text, the translator can translate humorous language in the approach of instrumental translation combining the above 3 rules under the guidance of Skopos Theory. When translating, the translator can translate humorous languages in the way of literal translation, substitution, adding and annotation.

摘要：本篇文章是以目的论为理论基础，对美国情景喜剧《生活大爆炸》的幽默字幕翻译进行了分析。目的论出现于20世纪70年代后期，其认为翻译是有目的性的文化交流行为。并且为翻译的完整性评价提供了标准。
本文认为为了实现译文的预期目的和功能，译者可在目的论指导下，结合目的论的三条原则，在幽默语翻译中采用工具翻译，按照读者的需要选择适当的翻译策略，在翻译中可采用直译、替代法、归化、增译法以及注释法翻译幽默语。
