Abstract: At present, some maritime conventions have been translated into Chinese, such as three major international conventions of goods by sea（Hague Rules, Visby Rules and Hamburg Rules）, while some Chinese maritime laws have been issued in English versions. Translation of maritime laws and regulations plays a crucial role in cultivating our shipping and logistics industries. Base on Eugene A. Nida’s functional equivalence theory, translation of maritime law demands faithfulness in both meaning and style. However, most of international maritime laws are legislated in English with legal terms and complex sentences, which challenge the job of E-C translation. And how to faithfully translate those difficult words and sentences would be discussed in this thesis.

摘要:目前我国已经对海上货物运输三大国际公约等外文海事法律进行了翻译，同时，我国相关的海事法律也都发行英文译本。无论是对国外海事法律的解读，还是中国海事法规的推广，都离不开对海事法律文本的翻译。绝大多数海事法律都以英语为源语言立法，使得对海事法律的翻译具有挑战性。本文基于功能对等理论，对于海事法律的字词、句子的翻译分别加以分析和总结，旨在探讨如何忠实准确地翻译出海事法律。
