Abstract: Hot words, as a kind of lexical phenomenon, is the reflection of hot issues that people in a country or areas most care about at one time. With the development of Chinese economy and society and the improvement of technology and science, a large number of network new words have emerged. Although having brought us pleasure, these network hot words also have influenced external exchange and cultural communication. Therefore, the thesis attempts to make an analysis of Chinese network hot words; and according to functional equivalence theory, the author proposes that literal translation, free translation and transliteration be used to the translation of network hot words so as to inform our foreign friends of the development of Chinese society and the newest cultural trend.

摘要：热词作为一种词汇现象，反映了一个国家、一个地区在一个时期人们普遍关注的问题和事物。热词具有时代特征，反映一个时期的热点话题及民生问题。随着中国经济社会的发展和科技水平的提高，大量的网络热词不断涌现，这些网络热词在给人们带来很多欢乐的同时，也给对外文化交流文化交流带来了很大的影响。因此，本文尝试对中国网络热词的英译进行研究，并根据奈达的功能对等理论，提出网络热词的翻译可使用直译、意译和音译的方法，以此让外国友人进一步了解中国的社会发展和最新的文化动向。
