Abstract：Hemingway is a renowned American author of the 20th century who centers his novels about personal experiences and affections. He is one of the authors who is best known as “the Lost Generation” (Linda，Wanger1987)---a group of young American who left native land and fought in the war and later engaged in writing of their own experiences in the war. Hemingway is the spokesman of these expatriates, and he creates a principle of “code hero” in dealing with the trauma of the “Lost Generation”. Code hero struggling with the mixture of their tragic faults and the surrounding environment , they would rather be destroyed, but never defeated. The characters in Hemingway’s first novel “The Sun Also Rise” are the exemplification of those “life code”. This thesis mainly focuses on analyzing the background and the essence of Hemingway’s Code Hero in The Sun Also Rise. In decoding the code governing the characters, Hemingway’s “manly principles” and life values are studied.

摘要：海明威，20世纪的一位知名美国作家，其小说多围绕个人经历和情感展开铺垫。作为“迷惘的一代”的代表作家者之一---一群年轻的美国人离开故土参加战争并最终根据自己在战争中的经历来写作的作者之一。海明威是这些旅居海外的美国人的代言人，在处理这些受到创伤的迷惘的一代时，他创造出了一种被称为“准则英雄”的新的人物角色。所谓“准则英雄”就是一群以悲剧的性格弱点与环境相抗争，宁愿被毁掉也决不会被打败的人物形象。这些“生命英雄”的特征都在海明威的第一篇长篇小说《太阳照常升起》中得到例证。本论文着重分析了海明威“准则英雄”的背景、特点以及在《太阳照常升起》中的英雄本质。在分析准则英雄角色时，也对“男子气概的原则”和生命价值进行了研究。
