Abstract: In The Sound and the Fury，Faulkner depicts three main female figures: Mrs Compson, Caddy, Dilsey. The depiction of them plays a very important role in revealing the social status of women, highlighting the influence of the southern traditional values on women and showing the racial fate of the black. This paper aims to reveal the damage that the declining Southern Plantation civilization and Puritanism inflicts on females and Faulkner’s different attitudes towards white and black females by analyzing these three figures in the novel——indifferent and arrogant Mrs Compson, rebellious Caddy and kind-hearted and devoted Dilsey.

摘要： 福克纳在小说《喧哗与骚动》中所刻画的康普生太太，凯蒂，迪尔西，这三位女性形象对于描述当时社会女性的社会地位，突显美国南方旧传统妇道思想对当时女性的影响，揭示当时黑人的种族命运起着重要的作用。本文旨在通过分析三位鲜明的女性形象，即冷酷高傲的康普生太太，叛逆的凯蒂，仁爱且具有奉献精神的迪尔西，以揭示南方没落的种植园文明和清教主义的妇道思想对女性的摧残，以及福克纳对白人及黑人女性所持的不同态度。
