Abstract: This thesis, by studying today’s online American play subtitle translation, tries to reveal some problems and analyze their causes. At the same time, it sums up the features of subtitle translation with American plays’ language investigated for the purpose of stressing the importance of domestication strategies in subtitle translation. Therefore, some strategies for domestication are to be proposed in terms of language and culture, with the hope that the online translators should pay much attention to domestication strategies and make the subtitle translation more idiomatic and understandable.

摘要：本文通过研究网络上美剧字幕翻译的现状，指出翻译中存在的问题并分析其形成原因，综合字幕翻译和美剧语言的特点，旨在举例强调字幕翻译本土化的重要性，并以实例从语言和文化两个角度提出了相关的翻译策略，以求得到网络字幕翻译小组对 “本土化翻译”的重视，从而打造更好的美剧字幕翻译。
