Abstract: From grammatical and semantic structures of different features and tendencies of view, the language pays more attention to syntactic structure and subject form , there is also more emphases on semantic structure and the discourse on the theme. Subject and theme sometimes can be the same or maybe different. It is not always the subject as the theme, and it is not always the theme as subject.Subject and theme are the two different conceptions. Comparison between English and Chinese, English is more focused on the subject of language, Chinese is more focus on the theme of the language, and such differences are caused by the two languages in the sentence order difference. This article tries from the perspective of subject and theme, through the two case studies to study the differences of subject and theme in C-E translation.

摘要：从语法和语义结构的不同特征或倾向性来看，世界上的语言有些比较注重句法结构及其形式上的主语，有些则比较注重语义结构及其话语上的主题。主语与主题既可以一致也可以不一致，做主语的不一定总是主题，做主题的有时候也不是主语。主语与主题是两个不同层面的概念，英汉对比之下，英语是比较注重主语的语言，汉语则是比较注重主题的语言，这种差异往往造成这两种语言在语序上的不同。本文试从主题与主语的角度，通过案例来研究英汉翻译中主题与主语的差异
