Abstract:With the development of globalization, international communication is becoming more and more frequent. In recent years, owing to its consistent development, the role of China is playing a more important role in the world. PSA, as a practical type of advertisement with high publicity value, has become a very essential means and a necessary tool for sending information, promoting social responsibility, and winning national honor. Therefore, the translation of PSA has attracted more attention of the public.

   However, in our daily life, the translation of Chinese PSA into English is not quite mature and needs to be improved. Under the guidance of Skopos theory, this paper focuses on the problems of the translation of PSA through abundant examples and proposes three rational translation methods, that is, literal translation, liberal translation and imitation. It is hoped that this research could provide some reference for the further study of PSA translation.

摘要:随着全球化的发展,国际交流变得越来越频繁。近年来,由于中国的不断发展,中国在世界扮演的角色也越来越重要。公益广告作为一种具有很高公众价值的实用文本,在传递信息、推动社会职责和赢得国际声誉方面已成为重要的方式与必要的工具。因此,公益广告的翻译越来越受到人们的重视。

   然而,在我们日常生活中,公益广告的英译还不是很成熟,需要进一步改善。本文以“目的论”为理论基础,通过列举大量公益广告实例,探讨公益广告的翻译并提出了直译、意译和效仿三种实用的翻译方法。希望能给以后公益广告的翻译研究提供一些参考。
