Abstract: Only by using proper principles and methods, can title of television drama be successful. This paper talks about the four principles and four methods of the English translation of Chinese television drama by lots of examples. The four principles are principle of information transmission, principle of cultural communication, principle of aesthetic appreciation and principle of commercial value. The principle of aesthetic appreciation consists of phonetic stylistic devices, syntactical stylistic devices and lexical stylistic devices. The four methods are transliteration, literal translation, free translation, literal translation and free translation together.

摘要：成功的电视剧剧名翻译必须运用合适的翻译原则和方法。本论文通过大量的举例说明来具体诠释中文电视剧剧名英译的四项原则和四个方法。四项原则分别是信息传递原则、文化传播原则、审美欣赏原则和商业价值原则。其中审美欣赏原则包括音韵修辞、结构修辞和词义修辞。四个方法分别是音译法、直译法、意译法和直译与意译相结合的方法。
