Abstract:This paper will focus on John Donne’s love presented in conceits in his famous poem “A Valediction：Forbidding Mourning.” The paper will elaborate its research questions as follows and detect the overlapping part(s) of their answers: what kinds of conceits Donne has used in this poem? How does it present the writer’s love in his poems? What advantages of using these conceits? What enlightenments have these conceits brought to the reader? The paper will show readers what is John Donne’s attitude when facing separation with his wife by analysing the conceits he uses in every stanza of this poem.

摘要:本论文重点研究是约翰·邓恩在《告别词：莫伤悲》（“A Valediction：Forbidding Mourning”）一诗中用奇喻表达爱情的手法。文章主要阐述了以下几个问题：诗中用了哪些奇喻？这些奇喻法是如何表现作者的爱情观？这种写法的好处是什么？给后人的启示和影响是什么？通过逐节分析诗中每段所运用的奇喻法，最终得到诗人所向往的爱情以及面对与恋人分别时的态度。
