Abstract: The issue of translation can be divided into translatability, relative untranslsatability and absolute untranslatability. The cultural differences of language are the causes of relative untranslatability and absolute untranslatability. This thesis firstly deducts the present situation of translatability, untranslatability, relative untranslatability, and absolute untranslatability. Then, according to the practical exemplification of such an issue, I would like to lead it to some case researches about it. This thesis focuses on the deduction of untranslatability, but also including some particular researches of translatability issues.

中文摘要:可译性问题有可译性、相对不可译性和绝对不可译性之说。本文认为，由文化差异造成的不可译为相对不可译，由语言本身的差异造成的不可译为绝对不可译。本文先从理论上演绎可译性、不可译性、相对不可译性和绝对不可译性在翻译领域的存在状况，然后经过实际的例证，对其进行个例研究。本文的重点在研究不可译性问题的演绎，但同时也对可译性问题做了翔致的分析。
