Abstract: The short story Cat in the Rain is written by Hemingway in 1925, and it is collected in his first short story selection In Our Time. The plot is very simple but its content is rather colorful and diverse. Cat in the Rain is a typical story with Hemingway’s iceberg principle, which has much more going on beneath the surface than appearing in the text itself. By making a profound analysis of the main entanglements in the novel, the paper aims to discuss the subsistent state of the American wife and to show some positive effects to women.

摘要：《雨中的猫》是海明威于1925年创作的短篇小说，收在他的第一本小说集《我们的时代》（1925）里。这篇小说情节很简单,但其内蕴却十分丰富,可以说是一篇充分体现了海明威“冰山原则”的小说,很多深意藏于文本之下。本文通过对小说中的几组角色关系进行深入剖析，从而揭示对女性的积极的启示意义。
