Abstract: The author focuses on the two theme levels in this novel, harmonious relationship between female and nature and women’s antagonism against men, to demonstrate Lessing’s equal affectionate feelings towards nature, women’s fates, her pursuit for the unity of man and nature, the emancipation of female, as well as her expectation to the harmony between male and female. This thesis attempts to analyze Doris Lessing’s masterwork An Old Woman and Her Cat in the term of eco-feminism so as to reveal the ideas of ecologic in this novel and the author’s profound reflection on the natural relationship among living beings which include human, plants and animals.

摘要：作者在小说中通过自然与女性的和谐和女性对男性的对抗两个主题层面的陈述，表达了作者对女性和自然命运同等关注的美好情怀及其追求女性解放，憧憬两性融洽的理想。本论文试从生态女性主义的视角对该短篇小说进行解析，揭示出蕴含于小说中的生态主义思想，以及作者对包括人类在内的所有生物之间关系等一系列问题的深层思考。
