Abstract:The study on human nature is beyond account and crosses all times and all lands. Wise and able persons both at home and abroad mainly approve that selfishness is the essence of human nature. This thesis attempts to analyze the mother’s (from the movie My Sister’s Keeper) extreme selfishness behind her profound love to her children. Selfishness can be a neutral word. If one’s selfishness seriously hinders others’ interests or hurts others, it is extreme selfishness. If one’s selfishness respects or even benefits others, this is neutral selfishness and it is kind. Based on the ethic predicament that faced by the family members in the film My Sister’s Keeper, this thesis intends to analyze the family diploma that caused by the mother’s extreme selfishness and lead parents as whole to correctly treat and manage their selfishness. The study on the one hand acknowledges and appreciates the importance of parents' love to their children; at the same time reveal their selfishness and the negative consequences behind their altruistic love. This thesis also aims to guide and give parents some inspiration to correctly understand their selfishness, learn to properly manage and control their selfishness, and rationally treat the family relationships.

摘要：国内外关于人性的研究数不胜数，一些能人志士普遍认为自私是人的本性。本文将分析母亲（基于电影《姐姐的守护者》）对孩子极度深爱的背后的极度自私。自私是一个中性词。如果一个人的自私严重妨碍到他人的利益或者是伤害到他人，这种自私就是邪恶的，就是极度自私。如果一个人的自私尊重或者是有利于他人的，就是中性自私，是好的。基于电影《姐姐的守护者》中其家庭成员面临的伦理困境，本文将分析由父母的极度自私造成的家庭悲剧，同时，引导父母正确对待和处理自己的自私。一方面，本文承认父母对子女的爱的重要性并深表敬意。同时，揭露他们的自私以及他们无私的爱给孩子带来的负面影响。本论文的目的在于让父母正确认识自己的自私，学会正确地管理和控制自己的自私，理性对待家庭关系。
