Abstract:Margaret Atwood is regarded as “Queen of Canadian Literature”. She devotes herself to literary writing and has gained great success in poetry, fiction and literary criticism. And she has got numerous rewards at home and abroad. As a female writer, Atwood always concerns the situations of women in modern society. The Edible Woman, her first novel is typical. This thesis attempts to analyze the novel from the perspective of feminism.
The thesis is made up of four chapters. Chapter one consists of a general introduction to Margaret Atwood and her first novel, The Edible Woman and the latest studies. Chapter two focuses on feminism, including its definition and development. Chapter three is the backbone of the thesis, devoting to the specific analysis of this novel from the perspective of feminism. It shows that Marian turns from a victim of the patriarchal society to the real controller of her life after a series of sufferings and strugglings .Chapter four is the conclusion, summarizing the main points of the whole thesis.

摘要:玛格丽特•阿特伍德被誉为“加拿大文学女王”。她积极投身文学事业。在诗歌、小说和文学评论等诸多方面均有造诣,获取国内外各种奖项无数。作为女性作家,阿特伍德始终心系女性在现代社会的处境,其处女作《可以吃的女人》就是典型代表。本文旨从女性主义角度对这部小说进行详细解析。
论文由四章组成。第一章主要介绍了阿特伍德及其小说《可以吃的女人》,以及文献综述。第二章介绍了女性主义,其含义及历史。第三章是论文的重点,从女性主义的角度分析了主人公玛丽安,她在经过一系列的挣扎和努力之后,最终从一个男权社会中的受害者成为命运的主宰者。第四章是结论部分,总结了本文的主要观点。
