Abstract:As a part of Halliday’s Systematic Functional Grammar, textual function focus on analyzing Theme-Rheme structure and cohesions to evaluate the integrity and coherence of a text. However, the choosing of theme affects the delivery of the message of a clause and the choosing of marked themes always expresses the writer’s particular intension. This paper will focus on analyzing the marked themes in Pride and Prejudice to prove Halliday’s view that a marked theme has functions of making contrast and expressing settings, meanwhile the contrast and setting of this novel also indicate the style of Jane Austen’s arranging plot.

摘要:韩礼德的系统功能语法中语篇功能强调对主位结构和衔接的分析从而体现语篇的完整性和连贯性。主位的选择影响小句信息的传递，而标记性主位的选择往往表达的是作者某种特殊的意图。本文将对简·奥斯汀的《傲慢与偏见》中部分标记性主位进行分析，所用语料主要涉及此篇小说中不同场景下伊丽莎白和达西情感变化的对比和场景设置。本文的分析印证了韩礼德对关于标记性主位具有对比功能和提供情景功能的观点，同时本分析也从篇章语言特征的角度部分地阐释了简·奥斯丁小说情节设置的特点。
