Abstract: The paper aims to study Mulan′s image by interpreting the changes of her image in international communication: localization-delocalization-re-localization, from the perspective of intercultural communication. Meanwhile, the differences between Chinese Hua Mulan and Disney Mulan are discussed from the perspective of cultural values. Cultural differences make the cultural exchange and integration in the world stage become inevitable in the Western cultural transformation, so Chinese culture should actively seek in the global development of the leading position. If the full laissez-faire is localized by other cultures, it will inevitably lead to cultural misreading, cultural aggression or cultural conflict. However, if the country is actively to explore the interpretation of their own cultural themes, the contrast of different versions will create a platform for cultural exchanges. In this process, the weak local culture must avoid alienation consciously or unconsciously, and try to reflect its own cultural characteristics.
