Abstract: In the last decade, the Ministry of Education has actively promoted the construction of English teaching in primary school, and English course has been developed well in Nanjing. The main purpose for the primary school to teach English is not just to let the students master a lot of English skills, but to stimulate pupils’ interest in English, to cultivate the students’ preliminary language sense and to lay a good foundation of pronunciation and intonation. The survey of a questionnaire has been conducted to find out the real situation of English pronunciation teaching in Nanjing Foreign Language School Xianlin Campus, which aims to analyze the reasons for the uneven grasp of English pronunciation among students and further to provide a reference for the English teaching method on pronunciation, then we make recommendations to address these issues and let teachers recognize the importance of pronunciation, find the correct English pronunciation and effective teaching methods and provide reference and help for teaching in English pronunciation, at the same time for the students to help and improve learning methods.
