ABSTRACT
Focusing on the easy-to-digest teaching, New Concept English has been widely accepted by the majority of teachers and students and various Chinese versions of these series published. Through different versions of New Concept English, we can get a glimpse of the translation of English textbooks in China.
This paper aims to analyze the translation of New Concept English into Chinese by comparing two different versions (the WPC version and the FLTRP version) with some examples analyzed in details. Its ultimate purpose is to figure out what kind of translation of English textbooks can best benefit the Chinese learners and advance the teaching of English as a foreign language.
