Abstract: In this thesis, Dickens’s Humanism is introduced with details from the novel, Oliver Twist. In order to present the major findings of this thesis more convincingly, the life experience of Dickens is introduced in the first part of this thesis. Humanism is also introduced to lay foundations for the analysis in the following parts. The resources from which Dickens got the inspiration to write this novel of Humanism are introduced in details, including the social and educational background of his and his personalities. The last part is Humanism reflected from the most important characters in this thesis: Oliver Twist, Rose and Nancy. Even though they are only several extractions selected for analysis in this thesis, they are typical enough to prove Dickens’ Humanism. Humanism is embodied very well through these characters.
