Abstract:Vocabulary plays a critical role in English. How vocabulary is taught has always been the focus of English teachers’ research. However, what is the best way to teach English vocabulary to non-native speakers? It still remains a question. Fortunately, many methods have been proposed. As a would-be English teacher, I try my best to research how to teach English vocabulary from morphological perspective.

My thesis discusses some aspects of morphology, including the definitions of morphemes, morphological structure and the main processes of word-formation of the language. Meanwhile, I analyze how the morphology study is applicable to English vocabulary teaching and learning in senior school; finally I propose some practical methods of vocabulary teaching from a morphological perspective.

中文摘要:英语词汇在英语中扮演着重要的角色。如何教好词汇一直以来都是英语教师的研究重点。然而,如何用最好的方法来教授词汇仍然还是问题。所幸的是研究者们已经提出了许多方法。作为未来教师队伍中的一员,我努力研究如何从形态学的角度教授词汇。本文主要介绍形态学的定义、种类、构词法,同时利用与形态学有关的方法来教授单词。
