Abstract: The intention of this paper is to reveal the linguistic beauty of Zhang Peiji’s essay translation. The thesis makes use of the theory of linguistic aesthetics to conduct a comprehensive analysis on how the translator reproduces the aesthetics values of the original essay in terms of phonetic level, lexical level, syntactic level, image level and artistic conception level. It is shown that Zhang Peiji fully conveyed the meaning and the artistic conception of the original essay to the target version. The author believes that the deliberate use of language contributes great to the realization of aesthetics representation in essay translation, so this paper mainly focuses on the linguistic aesthetics of Zhang Peiji’s essay translation. It hopes to help learners and translators get a better understanding of linguistic aesthetics and learn to appreciate and practice the theory in the essay translation.
