Abstract: In recent years due to China’s opening up in a large scale, more and more American films have been introduced to Chinese people, especially teenagers. Many young people in China have a profound interest in Marvel films, including many of Marvel film hero fans. However, there are lots of differences in many aspects between the two countries. People don't know enough about Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the translators adopt incorrect translation strategies which result in the mistakes of Marvel movie subtitles. Translators will make different kinds of mistakes in Marvel film translation. This paper discusses the translation strategies of the Marvel film subtitles and points out the errors in the Marvel movie subtitle translation. This paper also focuses on the differences of Marvel film translation and other film translation, which can provide some suggestions to the Marvel movie subtitle translation and make people better understand and love the Marvel films.
