Abstract: The subtitle translation is a part of film translation, which means translating original language of the film into the accepted target language so that the audience can gain the maximum information and enjoy the “original favor”of the film. The Skopostheorie is a kind of translation theory which is based on the aim of translation. It includes three rules: skopos rule, coherence rule and fidelity rule. This paper explores subtitle translation of the movie from the perspective of Skopostheories, taking The King’s Speech as a case study.
