Abstract:Nowadays, in the trend of globalization and the rapid development of Internet Information Age, information communication between people in different countries is more convenient, fast and frequent. More and more people have the opportunity to go abroad to learn, live, work, visit relatives and travel in exotic places, so cultural exchange become an important communication skills for us. However, in intercultural communication, the use of euphemism is very extensive, so euphemism translation plays a very important role in the cultural exchange.
Because of each country, each nationality has different historical and cultural backgrounds, the euphemism in different backgrounds has a great difference. Therefore, translators may encounter some difficulties in translating euphemisms. This paper will lead the reader to explore the translation skills of English euphemism from the perspective of teleology, so as to deepen the understanding and interpretation of the original intention of the euphemism in the translation practice, so as to avoid the misunderstanding of the readers in the actual translation due to cultural differences and unnecessary mistakes.
