This novel tells us how forgiveness can transform even the most damaged of relationships. Haven Hartt, the character of this novel, is a teenager faced with a personal crisis when her family suddenly falls apart. She must choose between "staying small" and learning a new way to look at her life, her parents, and the decisions they made before she was born.
The author loves to read motivational, self-help books written by some famous specialists. And she transformed herself into a popular inspirational author and speaker, teaches the tools, techniques and methods to change your life. So this novel is not only a work of inspirational fiction, but also filled with many concepts, ideas and tools that you can immediately apply to your own life.
My task is to translate Chapters 1-3 of this novel into correct Chinese in terms of content, ideas, style and cultural differences. The three chapters are the beginning parts of this novel and following are the titles When Your World Is Turned Upside Down, A Blessing in the Pain, Talk to God – He Just Might Answer. After finishing the translation, I need to write an essay on translation practice to summarize the process of translation, problems I meet during translation and my thoughts about the translation.
