摘要:随着世界经济的迅猛发展,商标在国际贸易活动中的重要性也逐渐凸显。商标作为商品最先被人注意的部分,是商品的门面,是给人留下最深印象的部分。随着国际贸易活动越来越频繁,商品能否在进入别国市场时有一个准确、优美、符合目标国家文化环境的译名就显得尤为重要。
商标翻译关乎企业形象、声誉以及销售额等重要问题。商标词汇颇具特点。从商标的功能的角度来说,商标具有具有独创性,象征性及联想性;从词汇角度上讲,商标翻译具有拟声以及同音异义的特点;从文化背景的角度看,商标翻译要考虑到不同文化中,不同的植物、动物和颜色的含义,以及本国文化对于别国而言的不可理解性。
商标翻译中存在不同错误,比如刻板的缺乏想象力直译以及冗长的音译。因此,在进行商标翻译时,除了要灵活运用常见的翻译方式,更要考虑到目标语言的文化背景,由此,才能保证商标在翻译过程中不出现令人啼笑皆非的错误。
