Abstract
Euphemism, also called cosmetic word, is not only a social lingual phenomenon,but also a kind of cultural phenomenon. The politeness principle guides people how to make conversations. On the basis of the definition and classification of euphemism, this paper firstly attempts to explore the relations of politeness principle and euphemism, and then this paper uses the method of case analysis to analyze the applications of euphemism in business communication under politeness principle. Finally, it is concluded that the use of euphemism reflects that people follow the politeness principle, which promotes the business communication. It is contributed to the success of business trade.
