Abstract:Diplomatic language refers to a phrase method used by diplomacy to express the attitude of the government of the country. Diplomatic language has different linguistic features according to diplomatic needs. Analyzing the linguistic features of diplomatic language and grasping the internal laws used in diplomatic language, and following the relevant pragmatic principles promote the smooth conduct of diplomatic activities.
This thesis mainly analyzes diplomatic linguistic features, including the fuzzy feature, the cooperative feature and the polite feature of diplomatic language and the three principles that diplomats should follow: the principle of fuzziness, the principle of cooperation and the principle of politeness.
