Abstract: Sexual discrimination more or less exists in different social systems and countries . As a product of social development, language comes from and reflects the society. And sexual discrimination is surely reflected in language as a common social phenomenon. Sexual discrimination in language is language sexism. This paper lists out various forms of sexual discrimination in the English language, analyses the historical, social and psysiological causes of such a phenomenon and summarizes some methods of eliminating sexual discrimination in the English language.

摘要:性别歧视在不同的社会制度和国家中都不同程度地存在。作为人类社会发展的产物之一，语言源于社会又反映社会。而性别歧视作为一种普遍的社会现象，自然会在语言中得到折射。性别歧视反映在语言中就形成了语言性别歧视。本文介绍了英语中的性别歧视语的种种表现形式，分析了这种现象产生的历史、社会和心理根源，并总结了一些消除英语语言中的性别歧视的方法。
