摘要:现阶段,英语专业的教学普遍重视对书本知识的传授和讲解,而缺乏对问题的自主学习能力的培养。学生们更追求听说读写等一些表面语言能力的提高,而忽视了语言学习的真正内涵——“思辨精神”。如何提高英语教学质量并培养全方位的人才已经成为当务之急。
基于批判性思维的研究有很多,却少有研究把BP制辩论与批判性思维结合起来探究其对英语专业语言能力培养的启示。本文通过介绍BP制辩论的概念、基本流程、规则以及对学生辩手的基本要求,来潜移默化地阐述BP制辩论赛与批判性思维之间的密切关系。然后比较分析BP制辩论对学生辩手的语言能力要求和英语专业大纲对学生语言能力要求的不同,并通过问卷调查的形式来探究英语专业学生辩手在参加辩论赛时的压力所在及收获所在。
根据已经收集到的数据得出结论,BP制辩论赛重在培养辩手以思维为主导的语言能力,对于英语专业人才培养的各个方面都有很丰富的启示。这主要是因为BP制辩论对思维能力的培养的确会对英语专业语言能力的培养产生重要作用。最后,结合理论知识与实际数据得出对英语专业教与学的双重建议,以此来实现提高英语专业语言能力的目标。
