ABSTRACT
With the rapid development of international trade and global economy, there is an increasing number of business terms used in the business documents. In order to improve the economic development and enhance international trade, it is imperative for Chinese government to normalize the translation of business terms, which include common words used in business dealings, proper nouns and trade terms. This paper takes the bidding documents of a company as an example and generalizes the common usage of words & phrases. After perusing and studying a large number of related periodicals and books, the author noticed that the reasons for lacking normalization in the translation of business terms in China are mainly as the following: political, cultural and translators’. In order to normalize translation of business terms in China, we must insist on the leadership of the government, create more chances for the specialists, translators and technicians to communicate with each other, and rely on the legislative method to ensure the authority of the normalization process. Only with the long-term stable cooperation among different groups, can we realize the goal of the normalization of the translation of business terms in China.
