ABSTRACT
With the further development of China's foreign trade, its relations with other countries are closer and closer, and English business correspondence writing requirements have been further improved. And business correspondence writing requires us to have full understanding on the knowledge of international trade practice. However, there are all sorts of inaccuracy in business correspondence, leading to the failure of further cooperation and negotiation. Therefore, the author will analyze and conclude the different error types of international trade practice knowledge in business correspondence, explain the reasons for the errors and propose a corresponding scheme. In this thesis, the author has discovered that there are three main error types, inappropriate use of the trade terms, inappropriate use of the payment method and inappropriate use of the foreign trade abbreviations. Students’ lacking in professional knowledge and teachers’ prim teaching methods lead to these errors. In order to reduce or avoid these errors, students and teachers need to make the joint efforts so as to achieve better teaching effect, meet the learning needs of students and enterprise demand by person, and raise more applied English talents.
