Abstract:This paper mainly explores the symbolic meaning of red in the novel Gone with the Wind. By studying the different meanings of red in the novel Gone with the Wind, it brings some inspirations and thoughts to the linguistic research and language teaching, and also brings new perspectives and thoughts to the understanding of Gone with the Wind.In human language, there are a large number of words to record color. This paper combines the red in life and makes a specific analysis of the red in the novel.In linguistics, color words have different uses, cultural values and cultural implications in literary works, which require us to study seriously, and it is the aim I wrote this paper.
