Abstract:Kinship appellation refers to the determination of the name of kinship members and their relations with each other on the basis of kinship. As a linguistic phenomenon, appellation is also a manifestation of culture. The differences that between English and Chinese reflect the differences between eastern and western cultures. Therefore, through comparative study, it can further reveal the cultural differences between English and Chinese kinship titles, which is more conducive to our learning of different languages and cultures.
